Fresh off separate nail-biting victories over the weekend, the Dallas Wings and the Las Vegas Aces seek for their second straight win as both teams collide on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 inside the 7,000-seat College Park Center.
Next up for the Wings is the defending champions Aces which escaped a gritty Chicago Sky squad 77-75 thanks to a game-winning layup from two-time league Most Valuable Player A’ja Wilson.
The Aces hope to build on their winning momentum when it battles a Wings team whom they’ve beaten twice this season. Will Las Vegas continue its dominance against Dallas or will the home team score a measure of revenge? Here’s how the current Dallas Wings vs. Las Vegas Aces betting lines look.
The Dallas Wings are high in confidence right now following a stunning comeback victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. Down by as many as 19 in the final canto, Dallas uncorked a deafening 40-18 run to secure its first win since the break.
Fortunately, Dallas will have forward Maddy Siegrist in the lineup this time against Las Vegas. It can be recalled that the 24-year old Siegrist was absent when these last two teams faced due to a finger injury. Without Siegrist, the Wings found themselves on the end of a 104-85 blowout loss to the Aces.
While versatile guard Odyssey Sims was on target with 25, leading scorer Arike Ogunbowale was only limited to 13 markers by a suffocating Aces defense, which also forced the Wings to shoot a dismal 30% from three in their previous encounter.
One thing Dallas needs to do though to give themselves a better chance of covering the spread is to maintain its strong play all game. The Wings were actually right within striking distance in their previous two matchups with the Aces and even took the lead in the opening quarter last time before they got manhandled as the game went on.
Should Dallas start strong and sustain it in all four quarters, backing them to cover the +8 spread against Las Vegas at home should offer potential value for punters looking for a solid bet on the underdog.
The Las Vegas Aces finally got over the hump following back-to-back losses to the Minnesota Lynx with a close victory over the Chicago Sky on Sunday. And what better way to build a winning streak than to take on a Dallas Wings team whom they’ve beaten by double digits twice this season.
In their previous game against the Sky, Las Vegas nearly collapsed in the end after leading by as many as 13 in the fourth. Fortunately, do-it-all forward A’ja Wilson came up in the clutch with a game-winning buzzer beater to escape a gritty Chicago squad, which also forced them to shoot 25% from downtown.
This will simply not do against a Wings squad who has offensive firepower from all positions on the floor. For all the flak they have been getting this season, Dallas has actually been better than good at something and that is putting the ball in the hoop.
Good thing for the Aces though is Wilson seems to turn it up notch when Las Vegas goes up against Dallas.
The Las Vegas Aces are the better team on paper as evident of their current position in the league standings. While the Dallas Wings are fresh off their biggest comeback victory of the season, the talent and depth of the Aces lineup are just too hard to ignore. Give me the Aces to cover at -110.
